Responsibilities:

Responsible for sourcing and qualification of suppliers to fulfill the operation need covering mechanical commodities and/or electro-mechanical commodity for product lines that produces client's state of the art instruments.

Collaborate with the NPI (New Product Introduction) Engineering team, operational & strategic procurement team and production engineering to setup materials/procurement engineering capability and supply chain to ensure the successful deployment of the product line in Singapore.

Support R&D NPI effort by identifying and purchasing components and parts for initial prototype build.

Work with existing or new vendors to lower materials cost through value engineering, reverse engineering, new design, alternative substitution, or relaxing of tolerance or standard of the materials.

Collaborate very closely with our Japanese R&D and suppliers
Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

Japanese language proficiency to liaise with Japanese suppliers

8 years of relevant experience in mechanical & electro-mechanical or electrical parts procurement engineering environment, supplier quality management, and/or product engineering, manufacturing

Hands-on experience in sourcing, procurement, process engineering or supplier quality management in an MNC manufacturing environment.
